The Arabian calligraphy is a technique of most important spiritual art, it is per excellence the Islamic art that is imposed itself since the seventh century. It is born to write the revelation of the Prophet of the Islam in Koranic text. With the passing of the time, several styles created themselves and some became references as the Koufi, the Thulthi, the Naskhi, the Diwânî… The Calam in bamboo, bevelled of different calibres, ink, the paper, has the calligrapher's material all in all. The beginners must start learning the only Arabian alphabet, when the classic writing is mastered the following path is the one of the aesthetic approach, the spiritual dimension only comes after the philosophical dimension. To practice the calligraphy, it is necessary to be available in its body and soul. The calligraphy allows to the churchgoer the pipeline of his interior energy in order to express his own perception of the moment. Real meditation, the practice of the calligraphy drives to the harmonization of the breathing of the emotions and the physical body, on the one hand, and of light and colours on the other hand. The interior perception seizes by the child, can bring it to canalize his interior energy toward a positive path, a path of non-violence, recognition and the respect of the other in the society. |

It is a creative act that achieves itself progressively; it leaves from the soft caress of the white and virgin paper until the penetration to give birth, thanks to the Calam and to ink, to a real picture whose basis is the letters and the words. In my pictures, the letters dance, the words link together and articulate… the shape generates and express the interior sense. My calligraphy is inspired by my articulated thought. I am especially attached to work by the children and the young, because for me the calligraphy is a simple and available means, so that the child or the teenager learns to develop and to valorise his potentiality. |
